Carpet Cushion Certification Program
The Carpet Cushion Council (CCC) and Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) certify carpet/flooring cushion for low chemical emissions through the Green Label certification program. UL AQS helped the industry develop test methods and acceptance criteria for the program. It has served as the emissions testing partner for the carpet cushion industry for over 20 years.

Manufacturers test to the Green Label requirements to show product compliance. UL AQS works with CCC, CRI, and directly with cushion manufacturers to determine how manufacturing and raw material changes may affect a product’s certification status. UL AQS may also assist manufacturers in meeting carpet sustainability requirements and performing risk assessments, like CA Proposition 65.

Product testing is conducted at the UL AQS 17025 accredited product emissions laboratory in dynamic environmental chambers with temperature, humidity and air flow controls. Chamber testing is designed to simulate a controlled, yet realistic indoor environment and to permit accurate and precise measurements of low level chemical contaminants emitting from products. A specific test method is followed meeting CA 01350 and CRI requirements. Additional data may be obtained for specialized needs.
